作品解説
早稲田大学を卒業後ポーランドの国立ウッチ映画大学に留学し、習作や短編作品を制作しながら、長編ドキュメンタリーを制作中の慶野優太郎による中編作品2本立ての中の1本。
ウッチ映画大学の卒業制作である『トーシャ 太陽の旅』は、18歳の少女が急に知人の赤ん坊を預かることになったあるひと時を描いた劇映画。どちらの作品にも共通してあるのは、ここで生きていくという人間の覚悟と厳しさに見える。そこにはストレンジャーとしてポーランドで20代の終わりを生きた慶野の想いが背後にあるように見えてならない。

慶野優太郎
1990年東京生まれ。早稲田大学文学部演劇映像コース卒業。映画雑誌の編集を経て、ポーランドへ渡る。東京では、三宅唱、ペドロ・コスタやワン・ビンなど、重要な映画監督と直接会う機会を得た。その後、ポーランドの国立ウッチ映画大学で学ぶ。最近の作品は、ポーランドの地方都市のエロティック・マッサージ店で働く若い女性の人間の尊厳をテーマにしたフィクション映画『トーシャ太陽の旅』（2022）、ポーランドの海辺の船乗りたちの家族を取り上げたドキュメンタリー映画『海辺の王国で』（2019）などがある。2018年にはハンガリーの監督タル・ベーラの個人指導のもと、映画演出を学ぶ。『海辺の王国で』(2019)は、山形国際ドキュメンタリー映画祭2019のコンペティション「アジア千波万波」に選出された。平成30年度には文化庁新進芸術家海外研修制度に選出される。ウッチ映画大学では、マグヌス・フォン=ホーンに師事する。
Yutaro Keino
Yutaro Keino was born in 1990 Tokyo, Japan. He graduated from Waseda University, School of Humanities and Social Science, Theatre and Film Arts. There, he started and was an editor for a film magazine before leaving to Poland. While in Tokyo, he met important filmmakers in person i.e. Sho Miyake, Pedro Costa and Wang Bing. Later he went on studying at Polish National Film School in Lodz. Recent films include a fiction film, On the Sunny Side of Eternal Journey (2022) on the theme of human dignity of a young woman who works at an erotic massage parlor in Poland, a documentary film In Thy Kingdom by the Sea (2019) featuring families of sailors by the Polish seaside. He has learned filmmaking personally under the tutorship of a Hungarian director, Bela Tarr (2018). In thy Kingdom by the Sea (2019) entered competition “New Asian Currents” at Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival 2019. At Polish National Film School in Lodz, he studied under Magnus von Horn .
